Self Adhesive Waterproofing Membrane – Osaka DS

Description

Osaka DS is a self-adhesive bituminous waterproofing membrane that forms a total barrier against vapour and gases. It consists of a self-adhesive bituminous compound and is self-protected by reinforced aluminum film. The polyester reinforced aluminium makes the membrane resistant to work site traffic. This membrane, designed to act as a barrier to vapour and gases, features an outer aluminum film and can therefore be exposed directly to the sun. It is not affected at all by ageing but is affected by contact with the ground because of the aluminum film which oxidizes when in contact with soil, fresh concrete, etc.
Osaka DS is suitable for all Roof Applications.

Applications

• Factory / Industrial Roofs for complete sealing and WP i.e., flat / sloped or profiled

• Foundations / basement (when PET film is on the upper side to protect the aluminum film from oxidizing when in contact with soil, fresh concrete) As a root barrier (when PET film is on the upper side)

SurfacePreparation and Installation
The Surface should be clean, dry, smooth and dust-free. If the surface is porous, apply a coat of Solvent Based Primer in a quantity of + / – 250 g / sq. m. The use of Bituminous Primer is in any case advisable, and the manufacturer’s instructions must be followed. To achieve the best result, proceed as follows: Always start by laying the rolls from the lowest point and work upwards, being careful not to create counter-gradient overlaps. The membrane must overlap the edge by at least 6 / 8 cms and on the top by at least 15 cms. After installation, press the membrane well, being very careful about details such as comers, edges, connections and overlap.

Storage
The quality and the characteristics of materials remain unaltered for a long period of time.
The product is however best used within 12 months. The product must be correctly stored in cool and dry premises, at or below 25°C room temperature. It is not affected by Frost.

Dimensions and Packaging
Osaka DS is available in rolls of 1 mt x 10 mt with 1.2 mm thickness.
Other lengths and thicknesses are available on request. The rolls are packed individually in cardboard boxes.

Caution and Safety
The material is not hazardous for normal uses. Keep out of reach of children. Possible handling risks; cuts and Abrasions in particular conditions. Osaka DS is not suitable for withstanding pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
